B9 Energy Offshore, DONG Energy and RES Offshore ceased development on the First Flight Wind project in December 2014.
This is an historical record only which will remain online until 28 September 2015.

In 2013, the First Flight Wind community liaison team visited primary and secondary schools throughout County Down, to introduce the offshore wind project plans to around 600 staff and pupils. We addressed many questions from students and staff, which touched on topics such as the potential size and location of the offshore wind farm, our community consultation, and our environmental studies and surveys.

We also discussed contexts for offshore wind in Northern Ireland, including the importance of renewable energy for combating climate change, and NI and UK policy on carbon emissions.

We will making more school visits and presentations in Autumn 2014. To find out more about our Education Programme, please contact our team. To find out about courses and careers in offshore wind, you can visit our careers section.
