Apprenticeships
Some companies offer them as an alternative to a tertiary qualification. Siemens launched the UK's first Wind Turbine Technician Modern Apprenticeship in 2010 and is now working with Tyne Metropolitan College and Belfast Metropolitan College.
Mabey Bridge's award winning apprenticeship programme is now in its 9th year, and you can find more information on a mechanical or electrical apprenticeships in England.

Wind Energy Safety Training
ARCH offers a range of Renewable UK and Global Wind Organisation (GWO) wind energy safety training courses for working on onshore and offshore wind farms, and provides approved IRATA International rope access training course. Training is available in Belfast, Lisnaskea and at Shannon Airport.
Safety Technology, based in Wales, offers an extensive range of Renewable UK & GWO approved wind energy safety training courses.
You can access Falck Safety Services at their Teeside base. They offer a wide range of offshore courses and services accredited by international bodies in 19 countries on 5 continents.
Maersk Training for the wind energy industry also delivers the safety training required by many major companies, approved by GWO.
